GRCF High Throughput Sequencing Center
At the GRCF HTS Center, our goal is to provide the research community at Johns Hopkins University with access to 'next generation' sequencing platforms. We currently feature an Illumina Genome Analyzer II, which has the capability to generate sequences with high accuracy at an extremely low cost per base. Using a sequencing-by-synthesis chemistry, billions of bases are produced with each run at a cost of less than 1% of capillary based methods.
Indexed sequencing has now been launched by Illumina. This allows multiplexing of up to 12 samples per lane. Please read Illumina's indexing data sheet for more information.
