The GRCF Biorepository & Cell Center works closely with clinical coordinators and nursing staff to process collections from various clinical study endpoints.  Processing may involve isolations of a subset of the material collected, cryopreservation or slide preparation and cryogenic storage or shipment to a testing facility.

SOPs are generated and staff are trained prior to the arrival of the first material processing.  Material is processed, when possible, same day and done in a manner to avoid freeze thaws or avoidable environmental variations.   Collected clinical material is generally aliquoted to small volumes (0.5-1mL each) and cryogenically preserved under sterile technique. Blood and urine are common bodily fluid collections, although protocols and processing may vary slightly between study protocols.

The GRCF Biorepository & Cell Center works closely with the collecting parties to ensure all material is collected and processed within protocol guidelines.
